U.S. National Intercollegiate Championships

about the event ...

Purpose: U.S. NATIONAL TEAM QUALIFIER. Eligible gold division winners earn a spot on the team, and qualify for international competition through semi-annual "team trials." Also encourages curricular development of racquetball at the intercollegiate level (an overall "team championship" trophy is also awarded).

  • Established: 1973
  • Frequency: Annual (In April)
  • Entrants: 300 - 400
  • Eligibility: Entrants must be USRA members and full-time, matriculated undergraduate students. Must comply with established "code of conduct" during competition.
  • Awards: Gold, Silver, Bronze in Men's/Women's #1 position divisions, plus the St. Onge team trophy. Awards given in consolation red, white and blue divisions.
  • Judging: Each team conducts preliminary playoffs for team position (on campus), single elimination in championship rounds, plus "Olympic Format" satellite consolation red, white and blue divisions.
  • Conditions: USRA rules govern, including mandatory protective eyewear requirement.
