The USRA recently announced the leasing of the Ladies Professional Racquetball Association to Claude Crocker, who will be responsible for all administrative responsibilities and will also act as tour commissioner, effective immediately. The USRA retains ownership of the LPRA tour, which will be under the direction of Mr. Crocker for all tour operations.

“Claude has supported the LPRA tour for the last two years and is extremely interested in assuring the tour’s success." said USRA Executive Director Jim Hiser. "Although no longer involved in the day-to-day operation, the USRA will continue to work closely with Claude to assure the tour's success.”

Founded in 2000, the Ladies Professional Racquetball Association [LPRA] offers events organized and administered by the USRA and sanctioned by the IRF, PARC, USRA, and Mexico Racquetball Federation. Scheduled throughout the United States and South America, the LPRA International Tour is a well-managed growth property that lends itself superbly to the demands of promoters, venues, and media.

The Format
The more things change ... the more they stay the same. After experimenting with a series of format changes in the first years of the new tour, the 2002-2003 season will return to a more standardized, and familiar, style of match play.

Beginning in the fall of 2002, women's pro tour play will return to standard scoring (one serve; only the server scores), with a two-point lead required for a win. Matches will be played the best of three out of five games to 11, adhering to USRA rules in all other situations.

The Events
LPRA members earn ranking points by competing in sanctioned tour events, which - combined with purse winnings -- provide incentive for participation. The culmination of Americas' Tour events provide an expanded base for publicity and exposure. Event sponsors are given primary consideration in court visibility, public address announcements, media, and television exposure.

The LPRA athletes will be available for personal appearances, clinics, and various other public relations functions on behalf of event sponsors.
