Hawaii Athletic Racquetball Association to Host First-Ever Pro
Tournament in Honolulu. [download flyer]
HARA recently announced they will host Hawaii's first ever LPRA/Military
tournament -- with a total cash purse exceeding $34,000.00 --
January 15-18, 2004.
Hawaii's "First Annual Women's
PRO/AM and U.S. Armed Forces Invitational Racquetball
Tournament" will be held at the world famous Honolulu Club
(Egan Inoue's home court!), with major military events being held at
Hickam Air Force Base and other divisions to be hosted on Oahu at
two YMCA locations.
The Hawaii Athletic Racquetball
Association, based in Honolulu, was formed in early 2003 by Edwin
Mangual who was inspired by his love of racquetball and fitness
to help grow and support the many players, clubs, companies and
other organizations involved in racquetball in Hawaii. This special
tournament was designed to offer local players, female pro's from
around the globe and all military players the opportunity to come
play in Paradise!
With one of the largest purses ever
offered in any racquetball tournament, this four-day tournament
promises not only highly competitive play, but also the experience
of a lifetime, plus represents the birth of a new LPRA tour stop,
combined with top military players and top amateur players as
well!
HARA, along with it's tournament
sponsors, NetApp, Northrop Grumman, Honolulu Club, YMCA Central and
YMCA Nuuanu, Hickam AFB, ProPenn and E-Force among many other local
companies, are currently working very hard to bring a memorable
tournament to those who make the trip. There will be parties and fun
galore and lots of opportunities to see the beautiful islands of
Hawaii with special travel packages currently being developed.
To register for this tournament or
for any additional information and travel information on this
tournament please visit HARA's website at www.hawaiiracquetball.org.
This event is an official USRA sanctioned tournament. HARA is the
