JUNIORS SET TO INVADE TEMPE

The 1999 Head 26th U.S. Junior Olympic National Racquetball Championships will feature the finest young players in the United States. The event will be held from June 25-30 at the Arizona State University Racquetball Complex in Tempe, Ariz., and is presented by Penn Racquet Sports.

Almost 400 juniors from around the nation will vie for 16 singles and 15 doubles national titles. The divisions range from 6-and-under to 18-and-under with doubles beginning at the 10-and-under age grouping. All divisions are separated by two-year increments.

Junior Team Qualification: All semifinalists in the boy's and girl's 18-and-under and 16-and-under divisions will earn one-year appointments to the U.S. Junior National Team. Finalists in the boy's and girl's 14-and-under divisions will also earn positions on the team. As does the adult national team, Junior Team USA competes internationally and conducts annual goodwill tours.
