rules & regulations
  • USRA Official Rules will govern competition, including the mandatory use of lensed eyewear tested to ASTM F803 or CSA impact standards. Check the ASTM list online to confirm that your eyewear can be used for competition.
  • Age & Citizenship Requirement: Players must meet the proper age requirement as of January 1, 2001. Only U.S. citizens are eligible to participate.
  • Eligibility: Only U.S. citizens may compete in the U.S. Team Qualifying Open divisions; all other age & skill divisions are open to U.S. citizens and residents. To be eligible to compete in any USRA sanctioned event, a player may not have earned in excess of $50,000 in cumulative, total prize monies per season [as of August 1, annually], as a direct result of competing in any professional tournament(s) so deemed by the USRA Board of Directors.
  • Membership: USRA membership is required of all participants. At the time of registration entrants must present a current membership card, a receipt, or a cancelled check (indicating recent enrollment) as proof of membership. Non-members will be required to purchase a membership on site. Entry limited to U.S. citizens only.
  • Qualifiers: All players must have competed in a recognized Level Three USRA State Championship to be eligible to compete in a U.S. Junior Olympic Racquetball Championship.
  • Drug Testing: The USRA will be using the U.S. Olympic Committee's Drug Testing Program at this event. A positive result for an IOC banned substance will be cause for disqualification from this event, and for loss of eligibility for a minimum of six (6) months by the USRA. Only 18 and under division players will be tested. By registering to compete, you are consenting to be subject to the drug test on a sample of your urine, and subject to penalties if test results are positive for a banned substance. Testing is mandatory; noncompliance will result in the same penalties as for a positive drug test. For information about specific medications call the U.S. Olympic Committee Drug Hotline at 800/233-0393.
junior code of conduct  All participants and chaperones will be asked to sign an official Code of Conduct upon registering for the tournament. In brief, the Code of Conduct states:

  • 3. Any physical damage to a room or loss of non-perishable items in the room (i.e., towels, lamps, etc) will be paid for by those participants assigned to the room in which the damage or loss occurs;
  • 4. Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated, for example — a) Any act considered to be an offense under federal, state, local, and USRA laws/rules. b) Gross misconduct (i.e. inappropriate horseplay, stealing, etc.) c) Unsportsmanlike conduct.

PENALTIES — Violation of the Code of Conduct may result in: 1. Full or partial restriction of movement at the tournament; 2. Written report to the Executive and Disciplinary Committees for further action; 3. Loss of opportunity to participate in future USRA programs; 4.
